Are you ready to galvanize a team around a culture of care, putting patients first to spark change?

This role will play an essential part in the innovation and implementation of the trade and distribution strategy for the Merz Therapeutics product line. The role will have accountability for developing and leading negotiations on trade contracts. The Director of Trade Relations will be responsible for developing business relationships with appropriate individuals within each Trade account. They will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing Trade customer business plans that deliver on the distribution agreements. The Director of Trade Relations will also be accountable for working with Commercial Operations to assist with any product issues that may arise. Primary Customers will be National Specialty Pharmacy account, Drug Wholesalers and select GPO accounts.

Core Duties

Lead Channel Strategy

Drive strategic initiatives to maximize channel partner opportunities across Merz Therapeutics portfolio to achieve performance goals for distribution partners.

Create Meaningful Partnerships

Establishes multi-level relationships with assigned customer base and through quarterly business reviews with key customers.

Contract Negotiation

Negotiate retail, specialty pharmacy, and wholesaler agreements based on business needs, approved by necessary departments at Merz Therapeutics

Drive Change

Analyze and understand the local environment and align Merz Therapeutic priorities to create Trade customer plans that deliver activities that contribute to the defined business objectives.

Cross-Collaboration

Maintain open communication throughout the organization, especially regarding cross region and cross-functional customer efforts.

Communicate with Merz Leadership

Detail potential legislative/regulatory impacts, business model shifts, market channel trends, partner M&A activity, and 3rd party payer policy changes in reports.

Represent Merz Therapeutics at Industry Events

Attendance required at various industry conferences, such as Asembia, NASP and PCMA.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (advanced degree in pharmacy, healthcare, or business desirable) is Required

Professional experience

7 to 10 years prior experience in Pharmaceutical Account Management is Required
Previous experience managing Specialty Pharmacy contracts is Required

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Demonstrate knowledge around pharmaceutical distribution of Specialty products is Required
Ability to establish and grow relationships with assigned customers is Required
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, with flexibility to meet the changing organizational needs is Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong negotiation skills is Required
