Job Title: DirectorTransportation

Job Summary

The Transportation Director under the direction and supervision of the EVP-PACE is responsible for developing a strategic plan which includes procurement and retirement of vehicles, implementing policies, procedures, safety, and training programs that will ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and guidelines, as well as client guidelines and policies.
Oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers and dispatch staff along with the maintenance of all vehicles to ensure that the daily operations and the needs of our clients are served effectively, efficiently, and delivered based on client requirements.
Will make every effort to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget.


Essential Job Functions Provides leadership and manages the transportation staff, ensuring coordination of services across all locations operated and managed by MJH and FPC, that participant safety is maintained, and that staff is effectively performing, also responsible to ensure all vehicles are maintained for optimum performance through preventative maintenance and manages the FLDOT grant program Develops a strategy for goals and objectives to meet future needs of the organization Provides a strategy and leadership to ensure technology is adopted and used to facilitate optimal outcomes for all stakeholders Advances the goals and objectives of the organization by developing supporting department specific performance goals, implementing quality improvement plans in the department, monitoring financial targets, and working collaboratively with other managers on issues related to quality programming, efficiency and cost effectiveness Maintains active involvement in the promotion of MJHS and affiliates in the community Ensures delivery of quality services by overseeing the department's compliance with regulatory requirements, updates to policies and procedures and safety guidelines, while leading continuous process improvement and risk management efforts Serves as an effective link with administration through effective communication, productive collaboration, demonstrated leadership and facilitation of change opportunities Ensures all necessary program records are maintained according to policy Collects and maintains data for reporting purposes Participates in department meetings and in-services as necessary.
Adheres to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Miami Jewish Health Systems Completes other job duties related to MJHS/PACE participants as assigned Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred or commensurate experience in transportation/fleet management for multisite operation Experience: Two years of supervisory experience preferred 2-4 years' experience in management/supervision/financial management in fixed route and paratransit operating environment required Licenses/Certifications: Current Florida Driver's License Abilities Required Skilled facilitator and problem solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Dade County streets and routes Ability to get in and out of the buses constantly to assist passengers Knowledge of maintenance program for vehicles Operates equipment to assist disabled persons Advanced MS Excel and/or Access database, Word, and PowerPoint Thorough knowledge of ADA & DOT regulations and related transit operations preferred Knowledge of transportation routing software Ability to develop a strategic vision for ongoing growth and provision of transportation services May be required to drive a company or rental vehicle (failure to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record MVR) background screen may result in termination of employment Functional Demands

Environment Work Conditions: Outside environmental conditions May require local travel Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 20 pound and carry objects 50 feet Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear, and operate computer keyboard Infectious Material Exposure: Possible exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues Organizational Expectations Ensures that resident's/patient's rights are adhered to Demonstrates professionalism and accountability Demonstrates a caring attitude consistent with Miami Jewish Empathicare SM toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and other facility guests Demonstrates excellent communication skills Ensures confidentiality and security of patients' medical information Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication Able to speak, read and write English Able to think and act calmly to meet unusual occurrences of the job Adheres to the organization's Mission, Vision and Values Participates in departmental activities, meetings and in-services and follows established guidelines Maintains a safe working environment
