Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic and tactical execution of transportation operations on a global scale.
Manage carrier relationships, including RFQs, rate negotiations, and contracting.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of safety and legality.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize transportation processes and meet customer needs.
Drive cost-saving initiatives through provider optimization and service level optimization.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of traffic activities between sites and customers.
Champion a positive work environment, prioritizing safety and enforcing best practices across the transportation department.
Analyze transportation budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Serve as the subject matter expert for transportation management systems and lead continuous improvement efforts in transportation processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
10+ years of experience in global transportation, including expertise in all major modes (Truck, LTL, parcel, ocean, rail).
Strong leadership skills with 10+ years of supervisory or management experience.
Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, gaining buy-in at all levels of the organization.
Experience working in a regulated industry, with knowledge of shipping hazardous materials.
Project management experience and proficiency in lean principles are a plus.
