Director, Vaccines Pipeline ROLE SUMMARY The Pipeline & Analytics Excellence team plays a critical role in partnering with the Commercial Strategy and Innovation (CSI) organization to provide insights that guide pipeline program strategy, stewardship, and investment cases across Pfizer. Members of the Pipeline Analytics team function as internal consultants to CSI disease area teams, bringing primary market research, secondary data analyses, and strategic thought partnership to drive investment decisions.

The Director of Vaccines Pipeline will closely partner with the Vaccines category team. This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. The successful candidate will join Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) colleagues worldwide who are dedicated to driving business through proactive thought leadership, innovative research capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Role definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Market Analytics Provide market analytics leadership to inform investment decisions of pipeline and business development opportunities. Act as a proactive strategic partner to CSI to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to identifying and evaluating commercial/business development strategies; identify optimal approach to answer questions through combination of primary market research and secondary data analyses. Lead qualitative and quantitative market research with external physicians and key opinion leaders. Conduct secondary desk research and simple analyses, as well manage secondary projects leveraging RWD of larger complexity. Ensure that investment opportunity analysis is rigorous and based on common and well-supported assumptions. Lead identification of information needs and development of research and data analysis plans, which includes leveraging insights from in-line brands/TAs as needed. Connect research and analytics together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Work flexibly and comfortably on multiple therapeutic areas in a matrixed team. Forecasting/ Operating Plan Support Act as a thought partner to Business Assessment to inform the creation of best-in-class epi-based forecasting models. Lead secondary data analytics and research to generate insights and/or inform forecast assumptions. Collaboration with other Analytical teams Alignment with in-line Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders (e.g., leverage in-line TA insights and optimal insight generation approach through analytic planning). Leverage Market Research Excellence group for the development of best-in-class approaches for market research; partner with other analytic team members to advance the use of real-world data sources. Support transition of post-DP3 programs/assets to IIS in-line teams. Vendor/Offshore Resource Management Ensure team commissioning and contracting through preferred vendors. Accountable for team meeting compliance and Corporate SOP obligations of all PMR projects. Manage budgets associated with assigned activities. Direct workload of flexible resources. Be accountable for continuous improvement and identification/utilization of new capabilities to maximize the competitive advantages of the business. Technical Skills Fluent in English (written and spoken). Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Previous epi-forecasting experience with an understanding of complicated methodologies, patient flows, data triangulation to derive assumptions to develop business case, including an understanding of risks and opportunities. Known subject matter expert for quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies. Extensive experience in the design and management of secondary data analytics. Previous demonstrated experience in using innovative techniques to monitor, simulate and analyze complex data sets preferred. Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, deal with ambiguity, and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects. Ability to assess and direct vendor technical capabilities and manage risks in the analytic process. Recognized expertise and coach to others on connecting, integrating, and synthesizing analysis into a meaningful 'so what' to drive clear strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making. Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with the capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust, credibility, and be seen as a driving partner to commercial clients. Ability to identify, prioritize and describe relevant caveats and uncertainties in research, analytic projects, and forecasts, including how they relate to the business question and broader strategic priorities. Previous demonstrated Business/Financial acumen. Qualifications 10+ years' experience in Biopharma, analytics, strategic consulting, business, or related area. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required. Masters (or equivalent) preferred in a quantitative discipline. Analytics, statistics and/or database knowledge and experience (using tools, applications, platforms, etc.). Demonstrated success in a highly fast-paced setting. Ability to identify new issues, trends, and opportunities from data. Ability to influence without authority, setting business direction, priorities, and action plans. Demonstrated analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills. Strong project management and organizational skills with cross-functional teams of diverse colleagues. Written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service orientation. Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Other Job Details: Eligible for employee referral bonus. Work location: Flexible; 2-3 days onsite/week. Last Day to Apply: November 15, 2024. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share-based long-term incentive program.
