Stanford University has an immediate opening for a full-time Disability Adviser in the Office of Accessible Education, the department charged with facilitating reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities in all areas of academic and residential life.
This position is integral in furthering accessibility and inclusion for students with disabilities on campus and working closely with campus partners to remove barriers to learning.

The Office of Accessible Education is a department within the division ofStudent Affairs which centers its work on case-by-case accommodation determinations and programmatic development for furthering accessibility and inclusion across the division.
OAE disability advisers serve as subject matter experts and work closely with all other campus departments, providing consultation and inclusion programming as needed.

Note: This is a 14-month fixed term appointment

In this role, you will:

Work directly with students to determine appropriate accommodations on a case-by-case basis.
Collaborate with staff and faculty throughout the University to guide the interactive process and assist in the implementation of reasonable accommodations.
Understand, interpret, and apply University policies and procedures.
Advise students on issues such as disclosure, disability management, reasonability, rights and responsibilities.
Collaborate and work closely with various university partners/stakeholders such as Residential and Dining Enterprises, VPUE, academic departments, professional schools, and Institutional Equity and Access.
Facilitate trainings, workshops and other programs for the broad learning and engagement of student, staff, and faculty.
Confer on complex cases with manager and colleagues.
Direct students to grievances processes.
Maintain records of activities with students, including communications, documentation, and meeting notes.
Collect and analyze data from multiple sources including student feedback, surveys, trend reports, and data analytics.
Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance offerings, such as programs and courses and to influence current processes and policies.
Develop, analyze, influence and review, policies, processes and programs by incorporating feedback and trend data learned from advising students and building relationships with colleagues.
Advise manager and team on policy updates, advising protocol, and provide recommendations for implementation of changes.
Initiate processes for identifying trends and performing needs analysis.
Advance unit's participation in the implementation and testing of new technology.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Ability to develop strong relationships with students and other constituents in a professional manner

Thoughtful reasoning, resourcefulness, initiative, discernment, and a high degree of motivation is required

Understanding of leadership development theories and training

Knowledge and embodiment of diversity and inclusion best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups from various identities, cultures, and backgrounds

Willingness to take on new challenges in a dynamic and changing environment and work gracefully under pressure

Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management

Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills

Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Box, and Google Drive;

Advanced customer service skills

Relevant computer systems/technology experience

Understanding of financial transactions

Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
In addition, preferred requirements include:

Excellent organizational skills including an ability to oversee a wide variety of activities, to define pitfalls, to propose and implement effective solutions, while being able to set and re-adjust often competing priorities.
High level of energy, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
Student development knowledge and experience in student affairs.
Working Conditions:

Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
This job is a hybrid position that has an onsite presence of 3 days per week minimum.
The expected pay range for this position is $69,100 - $95,825annual
