This position gives you the opportunity to provide employment and training services to eligible veterans and eligible spouses who meet the statutorily specified definitions of an individual with a significant barrier to employment or are members of a veteran population.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK An employee in this job provides employment services to help veterans and spouses meet their employment needs.
Work involves performing comprehensive assessments, planning and conducting in-depth group and individual career counseling, as well as developing and implementing individualized employment plans.
You will utilize your coaching strategies to help veterans develop and reach their career objectives and refer them to community resources that may help address significant barriers to employment.
This position gives you the opportunity to collaborate with community organizations, local service providers, and other public and private entities to provide employment services.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Providing veterans with comprehensive assessment of education, skills, and abilities Identifying employment barriers and appropriate employment goals Training veterans in communication, interviewing, professional conduct, and personal maintenance skills Corresponding with veterans to discuss programs and services, job matches, and/or to refer them to postings for which they are qualified Interested in learning more?

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of technical or paraprofessional employment services or veterans' employer outreach work, and a bachelor's degree; or One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements: All positions must be filled by a veteran with preference in such appointments given to qualified disabled veterans as defined by Title 38, USC Chap.
41, Section 4101 (3).
