Role Summary: The Warehouse DC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution center, ensuring efficient and accurate movement of products, inventory management, and the overall functionality of the warehouse.
This role requires strong leadership to manage and develop a team, enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain a high standard of safety, organization, and cleanliness.
The manager will also handle facilities and financial coordination, vendor and project management, and contribute to special initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
We are in process of moving to a larger facility.
This role will play a crucial part in helping with this move, as well as implementing a new WMS system.
Responsibilities: Fulfillment Floor Leadership: Lead and oversee the fulfillment floor, providing guidance and leadership to Operations Managers, Leads, and Associates.Identify and implement training and development opportunities to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.Evaluate work methods, procedures, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely movement of products.Actively participate in strategy sessions and maintain a strong on-site presence to address and resolve any operational challenges.Evaluate individual team member performance by tracking Units Per Hour (UPH) and providing constructive feedback.Develop and enforce safety protocols in accordance with regulations and industry best practices, ensuring a secure work environment.Operational Efficiency Identify, address, and minimize common pick, pack, receiving, and shipping issues to maintain smooth operations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining high standards of service and accuracy.Managing DC budgeting, P&L responsibilities, and staffing.Inventory Management: Ensure inventory accuracy by closely monitoring daily warehouse activities, conducting regular cycle counts, and overseeing inbound and outbound deliveries.Facilities Management Oversee waste management, including recycling services, hazardous waste pickups, and ensure compliance with sustainability standards.Conduct monthly site inspections to proactively identify safety or maintenance issues and address operational challenges.Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within the warehouse.Monitor storm systems, making sure that the facility is prepared for hurricanes, and that the generators are well maintained.WMS Implementation and New Facility Opening Enhance new facility layout plans to streamline the processes of receiving, storage, picking, and packing.Manage the installation of new facility equipment, such as racking systemsAct as a key stakeholder in launching a new Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring compliance and trainingDevelop and enforce safety protocols in accordance with regulations and industry best practices, ensuring a secure work environment.Qualifications: Proven experience in managing warehouse or distribution center operations with a focus on inventory management and order fulfillment.Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.Ability to execute and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Experience with staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software for inventory tracking and reporting.Strong understanding of logistics, transportation coordination, and operational efficiency.Commitment to maintaining high standards of work practices, productivity, and workplace organization.Bilingual language skills and Spanish speaking a major plus.Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
