Job Summary The Manager of Distribution is responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, distribution expertise, coaching/developing skills, and the management of strategic relationships to ensure delivery of best-in-class service, cost, and quality. The Manager of Distribution will monitor and coordinate with our third-party suppliers daily to ensure the expectations of Spectrum Brands and our customers are being met. The Manager of Distribution will display leadership, cooperation, and a continuous commitment to operational and financial improvements. This role is also the relationship holder for several factory service providers across the product portfolio. Multi-site responsibility, owning all aspects of distribution operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Negotiate and implement effective 3PL distribution and transportation contracts.Enable a multimodal distribution network designed to fulfill all customer and consumer demands.Develop and approve budgeting while providing oversight control of distribution costs.Create and implement long-term strategic plans for the distribution function to ensure continued customer service program development and logistics requirements for future needs in domestic and international markets.Provide leadership development and resource support for the team.Maintain and produce monthly KPI reports for cost, quality, service, and safety.Owns the relationship and execution oversight of all return/refurbish programs.Responsible for all distribution-related SOX compliance oversight and reporting.Ensure internal and external inventory accuracy compliance measures are achieved.Leads the design and implementation of distribution network models that support the strategic direction of the business and future growth. Education and Experience Profile B.S./B.A. Degree; MBA preferred.5 to 7 years of Operations/Finance/Supply Chain/Distribution experience with emphasis in multi-site distribution.Industry certification preferred.Some understanding of Network Design is preferred.Experience in DTC, ecomm parcel fulfillment. Required Skills High level of organizational skills.PC skills (Spreadsheet, word processing, presentations).Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.Development and articulation of strategy.Ability to effectively lead associates both local and remote.Diplomacy and negotiations.Financial acuity with the ability to understand, communicate and affect change in key metrics.WMS and TMS experience.Works effectively across the organization and fosters teamwork.Self-motivated.Effective time management skills.Strong understanding of the systems and technology in the distribution space. Work Environment Work conditions normal for an office environment, up to 25% travel.
