Our client is a privately held organization that has been a leading player in the authorized dealer space for a major telecommunications company for the past twenty years. The retailer operates 2,000 stores across the U.S., 500 in Mexico, and several in Canada. The company is known for its sales-centric approach and has been recognized as an Authorized Retailer of the Year for four consecutive years.

Summary

The District Manager (DM) oversees multiple retail locations and supervises several Retail Store Managers. Key responsibilities include driving sales, executing operational initiatives, controlling expenses, addressing personnel issues, and implementing merchandising strategies, all while ensuring adherence to company policies across the district.

The DM is ultimately responsible for maintaining the highest level of customer service by continually enhancing team capabilities. As a role model and leader, the DM solves problems, makes informed decisions, and guides the workforce to achieve optimal results. Strong leadership skills are essential for effectively developing, implementing, and managing programs and processes.

Responsibilities

Success will be evaluated by demonstrating the following:

Demonstrate to other employees how to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Assist with keeping the district team up to date on industry and company changes.

Coordinate sales promotion activities.

Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and displays.

Help solve problems that affect the stores' service, efficiency, and productivity.

Conduct one-on-one monthly performance reviews with all location employees to build more effective communications, identify training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of Sales Specialist activity and performance.

Ensure staff is selling utilizing the proper steps to a quality and complete sale.

Provide up-to-date industry and carrier-specific information to the sales team.

Operations

Coach team to thoroughly learn all day-to-day procedures and role accountabilities.

Follow up on location paperwork. Check for completion and accuracy, as well as safeguarding customer information.

Complete a quarterly inventory count personally with the Store Manager in each location.

Review accurate and timely completion of operational checklists.

Assist Loss Prevention to locate missing phones & perform physical recounts as necessary.

Remain aware and current on all performance markers both with the location, district, and the market.

Monitor schedules and check for proper scheduling levels to meet customer service and sales goals.

Personnel Management

Oversee compliance of Store Managers with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and property, personnel practices, security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures by performing required audits.

Drive sales performance, meeting individual, store, and district sales goals through coaching, training, continually developing a sales team, and monitoring and reviewing sales team progress.

Assist in the recruitment and hiring of the most qualified Retail Store Managers and Sales Specialists to meet the district's needs.

Conduct orientation, train, and coach the management staff in the execution of daily tasks, and maximize sales.

Coach team to consistently and accurately report data in business systems.

Participate in administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.

Review operational reports and records to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.

Coordinate new store openings and/or closing of existing locations.

Position Requirements

5+ years of retail management experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Excellent attention to detail

Experience with project management and in a retail environment is preferred.

Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
