DescriptionEmory University's Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology seeks a full-time fellowship trained Transplant Nephrologist at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher to join a robust team. Candidates will be considered based on their experience and long-term career interests.
Summary of Duties: Serve as a transplant nephrologist in the Emory Transplant Center with an active inpatient and outpatient practice, with coverage and practice responsibilities across Emory-owned and affiliated hospitals.Maintain an academic appointment in the Renal Division, Department of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine.Participate in efforts to provide outstanding clinical care, maintain/improve quality and patient safety, access to and management of clinical trials, and developing/refining innovative strategies in the field of adult abdominal transplant surgery.Focus on clinical or basic research, quality improvement, and/or education.Participate in committees, patient selection conference, peer review, present cases in the M&M case conferences, manage patient workups and procedures according to department guidelines, and adopt any tools and/or technologies deemed part of the practice of abdominal transplant.Participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows and other rotators through the transplant surgery service.Minimum Qualifications: Board certified in nephrologyCompletion of an AST-accredited Transplant Nephrology FellowshipA valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of GeorgiaThe Department of Medicine, together with Emory University School of Medicine, is fully committed to the shared values of diversity and inclusion in order to achieve and sustain excellence.
