Job Description:Zygo Corporation is looking for a Documentation Manufacturing Engineer who enables efficient operation of manufacturing optics by delivering on quality manufacturing instructions with embedded instructions utilizing written and graphical format. The ideal candidate will be a champion of continuous improvement by being creative and thoughtful with careful attention to detail. In this cross-functional role, you would be working closely with operations, engineering, planning, and quality to:
Create detailed and clear manufacturing instructions (Methods), outlining each step of manufacturing operations with clearly defined written and visual instructions.Enable video-based training and onboarding instructions to reduce the learning curve for employees.Work with engineering to modify existing methods or reduce scrap by creating detailed and effective solutions for rework cycles.Due to the nature of Zygo's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the US and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.What You'll BringBachelor's Degree in a technical field with 2 or more years of experience in technical writing.Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.Ability to operate hardware and software related to a basic online training platform.What Is Nice To HaveBasic knowledge of inspection of optical surfaces per MIL and ISO standards.Prior experience with DeepHow training platform a plus.Engineering degree.*The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 USD per year; Zygo Corporation considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
