Responsibilities for this Position Job description Job Description OVERVIEW General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity as you plan for your life after the military. This program is open to any rank, enlisted or officer.
You may be eligible to participate in SkillBridge if you:
Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service. Obtain approval from your unit commander. Will receive an honorable discharge. Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate. The General Dynamics Land Systems SkillBridge Internship Program provides an opportunity for Service members to transition from service to industry. Our 151 to 180-day internship assignments provide real-world exposure to day-to-day activities in departments and hands-on training opportunities to re-skill and up-skill. Participants are not eligible for compensation from GDLS, as they continue to receive DOD compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Service members receive supervision and mentorship from experienced professionals in respective fields, are included as part of the team within the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES Collectively support the management of Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle with respective stakeholders requirements from proposal through close-out to meet cost, schedule and performance requirements as outlined in applicable contract scope of work. Serve as the test and evaluation lead reporting to the Program Manager to initiate, establish, propose and implement new strategies and methodologies aligned with our department goals and objectives. Resolve complex problems involving diverse, conflicting and/or incomplete data, requiring significant analysis, ingenuity and independent thought to mitigate risk and meet schedule. Explain and present complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and influence with authority to achieve department goals and objectives. Lead large multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives and manage with an active contribution and intensive management for deliveries and managing priorities not to impact customer schedules and financial goals. Alignment of forecasting with all stakeholders to achieve our goals and objectives. Lead engagements with Engineering for Engineering Change Request (ECR) submission and Integration to achieve our goals and objectives. Lead internal department and cross functional stakeholder routine reviews and collaboration to achieve our goals and objectives. Establish and maintain a tactical event calendar to synchronize cadence within the department and external US Government test and evaluation events. Serve as a key consultant to department program leader providing pertinent information to include technical consultation, innovation and influence without authority to develop with courses of action, impacts and recommendations. Lead our internal team in support of compliance inclusive of inter-department audits and administrative requirements. Manage day to day relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Support the implementation of Safety, DEI, WSBM, ISO, Lean Six Sigma, Metrics, Compliance and other GDLS initiatives. REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 18 years old. Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.) Must be able to complete a minimum of a full time, three to six-month assignment. Must be capable of obtaining a secret DoD clearance. Must have a Bachelor's Degree in business or related field. PMP Certification, DAU Program Management, and/or DAU Test Management certification is a plus. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively perform the following requirements at a Senior Level Program Manager capability: Significant experience and past performance in working with USMC Light Armored Vehicle. Must be customer focused and action oriented. Excellent organization with the ability to follow-through to completion. Must be capable of communicating in both written and verbal modes at the management level. Must have ability to work with diverse multicultural group, which include all levels of staff and management. Understanding of U.S. Marine Corps acquisitions and U.S. Department of Defense agency processes for management of Test & Evaluation, Training and Logistics. Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams to execute planned activities to achieve strategic objectives. Capable of overseeing demand planning, forecasting and integrated master schedule for multiple simultaneous projects. OBJECTIVE
SkillBridge program participants will receive on the job training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDLS mission to provide innovative design, engineering, technology, production, and full life-cycle support for land combat vehicles around the globe. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, mentoring, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDLS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
