Develop drill and blast designs, implement design in conjunction with blasting sub-contractor and monitor drill and blast results, recommending changes where appropriate to ensure high quality, safe and cost effective drill and blasting activities, within a culture of continuous improvement.
EducationBachelor's Degree in Geology
Skill, Knowledge, and ExperienceMin. 3 years previous experience in drilling and blasting on Mine Sites (Coal preferred).Able to assist the Client with community issues (including alleged damage) related to drill and blast operations.Demonstrated knowledge of drill capabilities and applications (Bucyrus, Sandvik preferred).Demonstrated knowledge of explosive types, handling requirements, and applications.Demonstrated knowledge of blast pattern design and the impacts of pattern, hole diameter, stemming, PF, etc.Understanding of regulations pertaining to explosives storage, handling, and use, including reporting requirements and permitting (P1, P2, and P3).Fluent in English, both spoken and written, is an advantage.
