\n ResponsibilitiesPerform sample intake and login.Conduct laboratory benchwork and analysis.Sample data entry with proper documentation.Maintain clean lab areas, supplies and glassware, and sample disposal.Utilize Instrumentation: Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer; Atomic Absorption Flame/Furnace; Gas Proportional Alpha/Beta Counting System; Kinetic Phosphorescence Analyzer; Some customer service and clerical work as needed to support the department.Utilize lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required.Other duties as assigned. RequirementsBachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, preferred.Associate's degree in biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field, required. National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP), or National Radon Safety Board (NRSB) certification may be substituted for education. Minimum one (1) year experience working in a laboratory required.Experience with chemical laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment including analytical instrumentation, preferred.Experience with Atomic Absorption (AA), Charcoal Canisters, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GCMS), Liquid Scintillation, Radon in Water, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), Metals, Nitrates, pH, or other environmental laboratory methods are a plus but is not required for this position. Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesTyping speed of 50-55 WPM necessary for data entry portion of work, required.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to adapt and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities as assigned.Highly organized and attention to detail Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsAbility to stand for extended periods of time.Ability to work in a laboratory environment with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as laboratory coats, safety glasses and gloves.  Ability to lift 20 pounds.

This position offers competitive compensation starting at $23.00 an hour.
