Description Job Description:
Perform a variety of routine and complex work in driving and coordinating pick up and removal of waste / rubbish, recycling, and others.
Driving local and over the road long haul.
Same day return to the work location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-May plan route to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
-Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
-Make sure pre-trip inspections are done before leaving the yard.
And then a post-trip inspection is completed after you return at the end of your shift.
-Maintain and keep all vehicles clean.
-Report all problems immediately to Supervisor / Manager or the Safety Manager.
-Conform to all safety rules and use all the appropriate safety equipment to operate any equipment authorized to complete your job.
-All paperwork must be completed / signed and handed to the Mechanic and Operations Supervisor daily.
-Must be able to take / pass a random DOT drug test.
-Must maintain a clean and valid driver's license.
-Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements Qualifications:
-1 Years of Tractor Trailer experience preferred or may provide training at a trainee rate of pay.
-Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
-Ability to safely drive Flatbed and walking floor tractor trailer.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
-Ability to work independently.
-Valid CDL Class A license.
*Drivers must be reliable and a hardworking individual.
Also, must show up daily or as scheduled.
*1 years of experience in the transportation industry or waste company preferred, or as a trainee rate of pay.
*This position is a union job and offers extensive benefits and retirement.
Expected hours: 50 - 60 per week
