This early childhood mental health program serves families with children from birth to kindergarten in Hennepin and Ramsey County who have social, emotional, or behavioral developmental needs, have been exposed to traumatic events, and/or are experiencing environmental stressors. The program offers weekly intensive family therapy. In Hennepin County, some children may be referred to the program's therapeutic preschool group depending on needs and availability. What to expect in the Family Focused program: The position includes responsibilities shared between providing group therapy/skills in our therapeutic preschool classroom and providing in home therapy. Therapists help strengthen the parent/child relationship while supporting children's social, emotional and behavioral functioning across all areas of development. Provide in home, early childhood mental health assessment, treatment, screening, and community-based consultation services to children ages birth to five and their families. Utilize the Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model to affect change within the child-parent relationship. The focus is on the emotional quality of the child-parent relationship with simultaneous attention to the individual contributions that each partner makes to the interaction. Provide both direct billable assessment and treatment services and non-billable screening, referral, and care coordination. Participate in required trainings and professional development activities related to early childhood mental health including cultural competency training, and the DC:0-5 assessment training. Provide early childhood therapeutic groups services, utilizing the Developmental Repair framework to deliver early childhood day treatment services by facilitating individual and group therapy and skills interventions as part of the treatment team. Children in the program are from ages 33 months up to kindergarten who are struggling with social emotional and regulation skills and may have experienced traumatic events. WHAT CAN WASHBURN CENTER OFFER YOU? Washburn Center for Children is committed to all our employees' professional development.  During your time at Washburn you will receive continues clinical training, increased supervision time and exposure to a wide array of clinical needs.  This role is a highly collaborative function and you will experience exposure to all programs at Washburn Center and work in collaboration with the various experienced professionals at Washburn to ensure the best care for the children and families in your care. THIS ROLE Clinical Treatment - Clinicians will provide services to educate and support families to become empowered to better self-advocate and navigate the various systems with more confidence and skill, as well as providing specialized direct services to children and their families, in their homes and the clinic-based setting to include the following services: Group Therapy – Clinicians will be required to provide group therapy, including the following: · Work with co-group facilitators to provide and lead scheduled early childhood day treatment group services · Plan and implement therapeutic activities based on the child's individual treatment plan goals and objectives, developmental needs, and therapeutic group themes · Lead a group environment that demonstrates consistency, respectful communication, safety, predictability, clear limits, and encouragement · Child observation in community classroom settings · Intervene respectfully, safely, and directly to maintain the children's physical and emotional safety and use therapeutic approaches to help prevent aggressive, destructive, and harmful behavior · Care coordination, including collaboration with other professionals working with the child · Work with co-facilitators, program supervisors, and program support to manage referrals and caseloads · Create a discharge plan · Provide a safe and welcoming physical group therapy environment by ensuring the room, toys, books, and furniture in are in good condition, interesting, clean, and represents the diverse cultural and developmental needs of the clients. Prepare the rooms, order supplies, and maintain the group therapy space. · Ability to use and apply therapeutic methods learned through the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) which includes verbal de-escalation and therapeutic holds Clinical Therapy – Clinicians will be expected to provide family therapy with the client's family, including: § Conduct DC 0-5 diagnostics assessments § Develop and implement a treatment plan with the family based on the diagnosis § Implement Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to strengthen the parent-child attachment relationship; address traumatic events/triggers; locate protective factors; promote hope; provide developmental guidance and provide emotional support § Care coordination, including collaboration with daycares, psychiatrists and other professionals working with the child and meeting regularly with co-group facilitators to share information regarding clients § Create a discharge plan § This position will be required to maintain monthly services consistent with budgeted client service expectations, on average 5-6 sessions per week. Documentation - Clinicians will be expected to maintain required documentation as specified in our Clinical Policy Manual, including: § Diagnostics assessments § Treatment plans for each client § Daily progress notes § Record keeping of all clinical activities and grant related services § Outcome instruments and assessment tools, including but not limited to the DC 0-5 assessment, CBCL, and ECSII § Discharge summaries § Satisfaction surveys § Timely response of communications from the program director, the supervisor, or program support to ensure clear communication throughout the program § Maintain current, timely authorizations for all therapeutic services form Medical Assistance, commercial insurance, or Hennepin County **All clinicians are to ensure Minnesota and HIPAA data privacy requirements are followed.** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ·       Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other human service field ·       Must maintain or be working towards independent licensure; licensure as LICSW, LP, LPCC, or LMFT preferred ·       If candidate has a Master's in Social Work, valid licensure as an LGSW is required  ·       Training in DC 0-5 Diagnostic Assessments and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) desired ·       Practical and theoretical knowledge of infant and child development and ability to communicate that knowledge with parents

\nSalary bracket (full time): $60,000 - $75,000 (Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to licensure, work experience and education)

Vacation:  Paid Vacation accrues at 10 hours of vacation per month - up to 15 days / 120 hours annually.
Sick Leave:  Paid sick leave accrues at 6.68 hours of sick per month - up to 10 days / 80 hours.
Holidays:  There are 2.5 days/20 hours of floating holidays per year in addition to the eight standard holidays.
