Hudson Institute is seeking interns looking to gaineditorial skillsincluding drafting newsletters, editing articles and assisting with webpage content production.
This intern will provide research and administrative support to the Public Affairs team.
The Public Affairs department focuses on maximizing Hudson Institute's presence in online, TV, and print media outlets by promoting Hudson experts and their work, putting on successful public events, and leveraging new media to amplify our impact in DC and across the globe.
Interns will also have the opportunity to assist with, and attend, Hudson Institute public events, as well as intern-specific events featuring Hudson scholars and experts across Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include Assisting with the formatting and editing of Hudson research.
Assisting with the creation and curation of email databases.
Assisting with the drafting of Hudson's original newsletters and webpage content.
contribute to the maintenance of Hudson's website, to include selecting editorial photos, proofreading copy from outside sources, and uploading content.
Assisting with the drafting of social media material including both written and multimedia content.
Assisting with public event operations.
Participating in the general work of the Public Affairs team.

RequirementsCandidates should have the ability to draft error-free copy in a timely manner.
Candidates should have strong copyediting skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Candidates should have a high level of technological competency and the ability to work seamlessly between various word processors including the Microsoft Office suite, Markdown, and Campaign Monitor.
Candidates should experience working within a style guide (experience with Chicago preferred, but not required).
Candidates should have a desire to gain editorial experience and improve reading and writing skills.
Candidates should have a desire to gain website backend experience and basic search engine optimization.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of politics and international relations.
Candidates should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, preferably on Eastern Standard Time.
