Responsibilities
Special Education: Attend IEP and 504 meetings with school districts, mediations, and due process hearings with the Office of Administrative Hearings, Special Education Division.School Discipline: Prepare for and advocate for school discipline and Title IX investigations, appeal suspensions, and attend hearings.Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal adviceAssist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of actionCreate legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedingsCollaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently Qualifications Experience in special education (personal or professional).Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clientsHas a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law schoolPrepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client baseCandidates must have passed the bar exam Compensation $140,000 yearly
