Job Description:
The Education Director plays a pivotal role in our non-profit day care organization, overseeing and enhancing the educational programs that provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in our care. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving educational strategies that align with the organization's mission and values. The Education Director is a key member of our leadership team and plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Educational Program Development: Develop, plan, and oversee the educational curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards for early childhood education.
2. Staff Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of teachers, assistants, and other educational staff, providing guidance, professional development opportunities, and support.
3. Curriculum Design: Collaborate with educators to design age-appropriate, engaging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum, incorporating best practices in early childhood education.
4. Educational Assessments: Implement assessment tools and strategies to monitor and track the progress and development of each child, ensuring individualized support and intervention when needed.
5. Parent Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, facilitating regular communication, meetings, and workshops to involve them in their child's educational journey.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing requirements, regulations, and educational standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
7. Resource Management: Manage educational resources, materials, and supplies, and budget to provide the best learning environment for children.
8. Professional Development: Stay current with developments in early childhood education, incorporating the latest research and best practices into the curriculum.
9. Program Evaluation: Regularly assess the effectiveness of the educational programs and make improvements based on outcomes and feedback.
10. Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations to enhance educational opportunities and resources for children.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within early childhood education or day care settings.
- Knowledge of state and local regulations related to early childhood education and child care services.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in curriculum development and assessment tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to the well-being and educational development of children.
