We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial/Energy team at our Wichita location (in office). This individual will assist with the design of a variety of projects that may include refineries, ammonia/fertilizer plants, logistics/terminals, and more.
Responsibilities: Prepare electrical equipment specifications for MCC's, switchgear, substations, and other electrical equipment selection. Review specifications, drawings, and vendor equipment documentation within the electrical engineering discipline and across other engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with project requirements. Apply design knowledge in power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specification and selection. Complete projects with specified electrical deliverables such as equipment supplier bid evaluation, load lists, electrical equipment schedules, cable and conduit schedules, generator sizing, one-line diagrams for low and medium voltage, hazardous area classification drawings, and ground grid design. Ensure adherence to industry standards and building codes. Requirements: B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.3+ years of relevant experience with electrical design projects for industrial/energy facilities.PE license is preferred.Demonstrated experience in low and medium voltage power distribution (including power system design), equipment/protective device sizing and power system studies.Demonstrated experience with single line diagrams, area classifications, power and control schematics, wiring design, raceway design specific to tray and conduit systems, lighting and grounding design, and electrical installation details.Understanding of engineering specifications for motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC's, VFD's, soft starters, and UPS systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple project tasks. Excellent presentation, written communication, time management, and organizational skills are required.Ability to work under pressure, be self-directed, exhibit good business judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.Compliance with MKEC and client drug/alcohol and safety programs.
