Electrical Engineer Intern TWD is in search of an Electrical Engineer Intern to work and get trained under our Canadian office at Burlington, ON. TWD TECHNOLOGIES is an international Canadian firm with 250+ employees and 8 offices across Canada, 1 office in the US and 1 office in EU. For 23 years now TWD is active in the energy and infrastructure sectors, such as: oil & gas, pipelines, renewables, terminalling & blending, chemical processing, power, metals & mining, infrastructure, food, beverage & pharmaceuticals, offering our specialty services to our clients through our full EPCM services package, with the capability to complete turnkey projects. This work placement will give the ability to the trainee to come in contact with colleagues across our Canadian and US offices and work under a competitive environment of an international company. The trainee will also have the chance to get trained on the corporate systems and processes of TWD, as well as on specialized technical softwares and Canadian and American codes and standards. Lastly the candidate will come in contact with colleagues of all the engineering departments of the company, in order to get a spherical understanding of the multidisciplinary environment. OPPORTUNITY Electrical Engineer Trainee (Full-time Position) Burlington, ON, Canada 1 year The Intern will start in the Athens office for the first 3 months and upon successful completion of this period will then go to Canada for the 1 year internship. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOUMostly home office type work – there may be opportunities to work from our client(s) or project construction site from time to timeTraveling to other TWD's offices for a period of time may be required Gain new skills and experienceAppointed a mentorExplore, network, develop working relationships Opportunity to continue your career at our Greek operations office TWD HELLAS, upon successful completion of your internship Responsibilities Perform electrical design and calculations.Direct the preparation of and/or prepare detailed designs for electrical systems using MicroStation and AutoCADConduct engineering field reviews for preliminary investigation and to ensure constructability of designPrepare, review and mark for changes detailed site layout, structural or electrical drawings such as: Schematics, Profiles, Single line diagrams, Circuit plansPrepare and review specifications, technical bid evaluations, procurement documentation and construction cost estimatesAssist with the generation of additional engineering products that may include reports, technical memoranda, illumination studies, specifications, and other supporting documentsAssist other engineers, technologists, designers and drafters in carrying out technical tasksReview and perform quality control checks for drawings and deliverablesPerform Project Manager functions on projects of varying sizes including budgets, schedules, design reports and peer reviewInteract with customers and other team members regarding project requirements and progress updateSupport the Business Development Team to effectively manage and expand existing customer relationships, grow and develop a new customer base, prepare technical proposals and attend conferences for the purpose of networking and promoting the companyQualifications:Greek CitizenValid Passport for the duration of the internship1-3 years relevant working experience with an engineering consulting firm or similar environment; construction experience is desirable.Minimum of a M.Eng. or BSc degree in Electrical Engineering.Proficiency in English, both written and verbal communications is a necessityCommitment and enthusiasm for continuous learning.Proficiency in MS Office and related tools such as Word and Excel.We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone.
