Job Overview We are seeking an Electrical R&D Technician to evaluate, assemble, and maintain electrical systems for our fast-paced R&D team. As an Electrical R&D Technician, you should be able to read electrical system design plans and recommend improvements, as well as calibrate instruments and diagnose faulty equipment.
\n Responsibilities Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, PCBs, and wire harnessesTroubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, wiring, and PCBsConstructing and fabricating parts, using hand tools and specificationsReading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematicsOrdering of electrical supplies and equipmentPlans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignmentCapable of providing direct feedback to the engineering teamContributes to team effort by reliably accomplishing all related tasks as needed, and always keeping an eye out for new ways to support the teamRepairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instrumentsRepairs and maintains electrical systems and minor mechanical systemsPlans electrical system additions or modificationsEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices QualificationsMinimum High School diplomaAt least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specifiedUnderstanding of electrical distribution systemsAbility to read blueprints, schematics and other electrical diagramsAbility to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliancesAble to lift 50 lbsAbility to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllersAbility to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety proceduresAbility to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the positionProject planning, schedule and cost estimationStrong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operationsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
