We are looking for an Industrial Electrician at an Electrician A skill level for the Beaumont plywood facility. The primary purpose of the electrician position within the maintenance department is to safely ensure all production-related equipment is in good working order and functioning properly.
Key Responsibilities:Uses all proper and necessary tools to safely repair and maintain production/manufacturing equipment.Repairs/replaces motor control circuits, pneumatic valves & cylinders, hydraulic valves and cylinder relay circuits, DC & AC drives, limit & proximity switches, and other field devices. Experience with conduit bending and wiring motors.Works with programming of VFD, Allen Bradley software and ability to troubleshoot PLC's.Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, electrical supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.Operates a forklift, mobile crane or other rolling stock on occasion.Communicates regularly with co-workers and management to ensure good two-way communication concerning electrical/maintenance issues.Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.Implements projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Responds to repair and modification requests from the Safety Committee and/or Safety Manager.May also have additional responsibilities related to the operations of the plant, as assigned.Skills:Interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of an organization.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize.Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues.Requirements/Qualifications:5+ years related electrical experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.Must have completed the Hood Industries Electrical Certification Process at an A Electrician level.Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, noisy, industrial environment.Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day.Willing and able to pull and lift to 50 lbs.Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience in working in wood products.Experience operating a forklift.Additional Information:Hood Industries offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including medical, employee assistance program, dental, vision, 401(k), cancer, flexible spending accounts, life, and LTD, available first of the month following completion of one month of continuous full-time employment.
