Essential Functions: Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical and/or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures; utilizes hand tools and power tools independently. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components; utilizes test equipment and hand tools to locate cause of breakdown and corrects problem.Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects; adjusts or repairs as needed to ensure compliance with codes.Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures; utilizes testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring for equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.Prepares sketches and/or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment; ensures conformance to building and safety codes.Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment.Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, and fixtures; utilizes hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolds, and other resources as needed.Installs conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas; pulls insulated wires or cables through conduit to complete circuits between boxes.Constructs and fabricates parts using hand tools and specifications.Fastens small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.Digs trenches to lay conduit and moves/lifts heavy objects as needed.Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.Provides written electrical report on a reoccurring basis.Estimates material costs and provides material quotes. Maintains electrical fittings inventory. Minimizes special order stocking and extra electrical material.Travels to different company locations to perform projects, both domestically and internationally.Provides professional development through presentations on a periodic basis to team members as it relates to the electrical trade.Leads electrical projects and team (s) on large scale construction, equipment, and power upgrade projects. Creates electrical schematic, layouts, and other grid plans to support the Electrical department.Prepares drawing packages that support building codes specifications. Oversees planning methods and reviews projects needs to adapt performance accordingly.Creates and maintains records for electrical loads centers, equipment, and devices. Provides feedback to upper management.Maintains current knowledge on laws and regulations of National Electrical Code (NEC) and Title 24. Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and wearing protective equipment as required.Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a commercial, industrial, and residential electrical environment. Special Requirements/Certification: Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.Valid documentation to travel to domestic and international sites. Completed certification of electrical apprenticeship and work experience in the electrical trade. Journeymen License, preferred. Pay Range: $30.00 to $40.00/hr
