Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time K-5 teacher for the upcoming ******** academic year at our virtual academy. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape the educational journey of young learners in an online environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging course content, providing personalized support to students, and fostering a collaborative learning community. This position offers the flexibility of working from home with occasional travel for school events and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional:
Take ownership of students' academic progress, fostering a culture of high expectations and active engagement.
Prepare students for standardized tests and conduct live synchronous teaching sessions for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Provide asynchronous support through various channels and collaborate with educational teams to enhance instruction and interventions.
Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Relationship Building:
Build positive relationships with students and families, offering support and guidance in navigating the virtual learning environment.
Collaborate with fellow educators to ensure all students receive necessary support and resources.
Organize social and educational activities to enrich the learning experience and foster community engagement.
Other Essential Functions:
Proctor state exams at testing sites as required.
Organize and maintain a professional home office conducive to productivity and focus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and six months of student teaching experience.
Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in the relevant subject area.
Possess appropriate state teaching certification.
Other Required Qualifications:
Strong pedagogical knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Ability to adapt to change and problem-solve independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new technologies.
Access to reliable high-speed internet.
Clear background check.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with K-5 age group.
Proficiency in online teaching platforms such as Blackboard Collaborate or Newrow.
Work Environment:
This is a home-based position with occasional travel requirements.
