PURPOSE:Senior-level reliability engineering position that works as part of a team to assist in the identification and management of asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or mining operations. Performs activities essential to loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management. The role involves advanced practices, defining new solutions, and/or working on large/complex projects. Work assignments are more complex in nature, where considerable creativity, technical judgment, tact, and initiative are required in problem solving.RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary responsibilities and tasks:Oversee the predictive maintenance program in addition to creating engineered solutions to complex equipment problems Implement various operational and maintenance alternatives to leverage cost-savings to comply with internal/external customer demands for timely repairs of process equipment Identify and set priorities on opportunities for reliability improvement by mining information using reliability databases Statistically analyze equipment and performance to assess reliability, maintainability, and availability Provide training and facilitation on root cause failure analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) with maintenance and operations personnel Manage capital projects team and multi-million-dollar budget to improve reliability, maintainability, and operational ability Assist with the development and implementation of Nevada Gold Mines' maintenance procedures, standards and specifications focused on sustaining a reliability-culture Cultivate productive partnerships with key vendors/OEM's that drive improvement in equipment Maintain and validate downtime reporting databases and KPI's Identify, scope, and evaluate reliability improvement projects Drive continuous improvement in the maintenance division and help foster the culture to ensure its longevity Coordinate plant equipment improvement trials, including technical input, tracking, and reporting. Ensure alignment of all trial work with the NGM's Management of Change policy Develop and maintain the critical spares requirements catalogue Provide technical support and supervision, as required, for shutdowns/breakdowns Collaborate with OEMs to identify and adopt technologies and practices that will improve equipment performance and reliability Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies for critical plant equipment Responds to a variety of internal and/or external requests Lead self and others in both daily assignments and special projects working collaboratively with peers and other departments to reach operational goals Recommends changes to policies, processes, standards, and practices that would improve operational support Deliver larger project workstreams, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate Ensure HS&E procedures are in place and followed by subordinates Define clear objectives and expectations of direct reports, evaluate performance, provide verbal and written feedback on career growth, and encourage innovative thinking and process improvement Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media QUALIFICATIONS:EducationBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline; or equivalent relevant experience ExperienceMinimum five (5) years' experience in a reliability role in an industrial environment Fully qualified and experienced professional reliability engineer who has considerable latitude for independent judgement, actions, and decisions, and has full professional competency #LI-JB1
