You will be responsible for providingimmediate and efficient care to patients experiencing life-threateninginjuries or illnesses. ER Nurses must have a strong knowledge base inemergency medicine, critical care, and trauma care to provide the bestpossible care to patients in emergency situations. The Registered Nurse (RN) prepares equipment andassists physician during examinations and treatments. The Registered Nurse(RN) administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs. The Registered Nurse (RN) observes and maintainsrecords on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.The Registered Nurse (RN) participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, ateam member or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care.The Registered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptictechnique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership anddirection to all support staff within department.CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline overlooking Corpus ChristiBay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region,with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac,cancer and stroke care. EducationSkills** * Associates Degree in Nursing**B. Experience** * One year experience in nursing preferred. Will accept a new graduate.**C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications** * Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License * BLS (American Heart Association) * ACLS required at time of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period. * NIHSS required within 90 days of hiretransfer date * De-escalation training required within 90 days of hiretransfer date * TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hiretransfer date. * PALS required at time of hire for experienced RNs.
