Location This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days a week in the office at FEMA headquarters in Washington, DC.
Job Description We are seeking an emergency management professional with demonstrated experience of FEMA's preparedness, response and recovery mission areas. The candidate will be responsible for drafting, developing, and editing policy and planning documents, leading stakeholder engagement activities, and providing emergency management expertise to FEMA clients in support of NIMS and the National Qualification System. Apply technical knowledge and expertise to analyze and develop procedures and draft documents in consideration of response and recovery operations.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree with 3-7 years' experience in the field of emergency management leading development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, policy and guidance documents, and creating job aids. Experience working with FEMA and/or state, local, or tribal emergency management agencies on emergency management exercises, continuity of operations, lessons learned and after-action analysis, and/or national preparedness. Designing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies with government clients, executive leadership, staff support, and internal and external stakeholders. Generate analytical assessments, policies, reports, memoranda, and presentations tailored to provide concise, clear, and easily consumable information for senior public and private sector clients. Maintain a consistent, high-quality writing style across all written products. Experience with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (SharePoint). Public Trust background screening.
