Emergency Management Director, Russell County Sheriff's OfficeThe Russell County Sheriff's Office is seeking to fill the position of Emergency Management Director. This is a full-time position, under the general supervision of the Russell County Sheriff. This position is responsible for the operations of the Emergency Management Department for Russell County.
Responsibilities include:
Performing comprehensive emergency management program activities, which include mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.Leading or assisting with projects in various program areas including disaster exercises, planning, public education, operations, public information, logistics, technology and equipment support, homeland security, and training.Enforcing and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.Fielding questions, concerns, and complaints from the public.Required Education and/or Experience: Kansas Certified Emergency Manager certification preferred but not required. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience and/or education in Emergency Management and/or any of the emergency services fields is preferred but not required.
