The Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is currently recruiting a full-time academic Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician. This full-time, employed position includes a faculty appointment at Baylor College of Medicine with protected time for teaching, a competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package, and no state income tax. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine.This position will be available in July 2024.
We are located in the city of Temple in beautiful central Texas, an hour north of Austin. We are an academic department with an Emergency Medicine residency entering its 32ndyear.We have 42 Emergency Medicine residents and 36 faculty covering two Emergency Departments.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Temple is our main site: a 48 bed ED, Level 1 Trauma Certified Stroke - Tertiary Referral Center with 640 inpatient beds, an 81 bed ICU, and an ED annual census of 80,000 visits. Our hospital was ranked #1 in the Fortune Top Teaching Hospitals in 2023.
Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center is a 20 bed ED, Level II Trauma Center for children with an annual census of 35,000 visits.We have 24/7 in-house PICU support and a pediatric clinic that houses nearly 40 specialties next door to the hospital.This ED is completely staffed by our faculty, both EM and PEM, supervising EM and pediatric residents.

- Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
