Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical care to patients in the emergency department
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform medical procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory tests
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Stay up-to-date with current medical research and advancements in emergency medicine
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Valid medical license to practice in the state
- Experience working in a hospital emergency department
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Knowledge of public health practices and family planning methods
