Who You Are: You wear many hats to help the organization navigate talent management, policy implementation, benefits administration labor law compliance, employee relations, and employee engagement. You have a history of implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs that both ensure compliance and drive employee engagement. You draw on your extensive knowledge of human resources, have sharp business acumen and an ability to forge dynamic relationships at all levels of the organization.
**This role will be onsite in our Elmhurst office 5 days a week** What You'll Do: Employee Relations:Partner closely with the Director of HR and senior leadership to handle employee relations issues.Act as primary point of contact for all employee relation issues.Conduct initial investigations of complaints and conflicts.Coach and counsel managers on sensitive employee-related issues.Develop and implement strategies and programs to strengthen workplace culture and engagement.Assist in drafting performance warning letters ensuring compliance with CBA, company rules and employee history.Review and prepare grievance letters.Assist in creating performance improvement plan documents.Manage terminations for both exempt and non-exempt staff.Coaching and Counseling:Prepare reports and identify trends in employee related issues, turnover, and present potential solutions to management team.Ensure consistent application and adherence to HR policies across all departments.Partner with Marketing & Communications on internal communication and employer brand strategies.Prepare and guide the annual performance review process to ensure accuracy, timely completion, and appropriate employee development in ADP. Assist in developing employee surveys and prepare data and insights to present to leadership. Manage the employee engine and prepare monthly data reports.Training & Development:Support performance management activities, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development/improvement plans.Coordinate and maintain training and development programs to foster employee growth and skill enhancement.Participate as an HR professional in company-wide projects furthering HR programs.Facilitates training sessions and workshops on various HR topics.Support various HR projects throughout the organization as needed. Education and/or required experience:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline.Minimum of 5+ years human resources experience.PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.Should be adept with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) as well as proficiency with HRIS System.Qualifications: Has a passion for people!Minimum 5 years relevant experienceA true hands-on approach supporting the HR Team to inspire, motivate and support the operations of TransChicago.Ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.In-depth knowledge of the HR function and progressive approach to HR practicesProficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office SuiteStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organizationStrong project management skills, communicating changes and project progressProven presentation and training experienceEffectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address business issuesAbility to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environment
