RESPONSIBILITIES: The Empresas Small Business Development Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of the program to ensure small business growth. The Empresas Manager oversees all aspects of the small business education and learning including but not limited to business plan review and assistance, access to capital, loan application assistance, mentoring and cohort business coaching, referral and resource navigation, business and financial education and credit counseling, specialized assistance such as accounting, legal, HR, business incubation, marketing and brand identity. The Empresas Manager supervises the Training Facilitators and the Urban and Rural Empresas Small Business Coaches and Specialists (Food, Retail and other industries), ensuring that the team works collaboratively to provide high quality, culturally responsive business coaching, resources and services to meet the needs of individuals and families in the Microenterprise programs. The Empresas Small Business Development Manager reports to the Director of Microenterprise Programs.

Lead overall management, strategic planning, program development and support of the Empresas Education Program. Evaluate program needs and resources, and develop and manage program budget. Manage grant-related proposals and projects in collaboration with the Grants Manager and Director of Microenterprise Programs. Supervise technical assistance, one-on-one coaching, and support to Latine small business owners in all aspects of business growth and reaching business objectives. Provide staff guidance, support and learning opportunities toward the goal of effective performance through modeling, coaching, mentoring, recognition/praise, and corrective action as appropriate. Build, motivate and promote a high-quality team by creating and encouraging a participatory work environment where trust, teamwork, open communication, and inclusion are highly valued. A passionate commitment to the mission of the organization, environmental sustainability, employee well-being, and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, including excellent verbal and written communication. Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, finance, or strongly related field. Demonstrated ability to implement and lead projects or programs. Experience working with Latine, low income, immigrant, diverse families. Experience in partnership building and cross-organization collaborations. Two years' experience with small business management, growth, and sales opportunities, and budget management. Two years' supervisory experience. Passionate about entrepreneurship, education, social justice, diversity, women's empowerment, and the environment. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Two years' experience working with the Latinx community in program development, and teaching and facilitating on economics, micro/small business management and growth. Experience with social media platforms, design, and communications. Experience in database creation and management. Experience with general business management, and microenterprise startups. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: COVID-19 vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical accommodation. Complete Criminal Background Registry enrollment letter for facility number CC503161. Must have reliable transportation to and from office premises and activity locations. Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings. SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary range: $66K-$70K, depending on qualifications. Classification: Full-time, exempt. Telework: up to 2 days a week. Benefits: health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, EAP, professional development opportunities, paid leave of absence, paid holidays (12.5 days annually), sick days (up to 9 days annually), vacation per year (up to 20 days years one through five, up to 25 days after five years), and sabbatical (1 month at 10 years of employment), monthly transportation stipend.
