UDR is seeking qualified candidates for an Energy Manager opportunity at the WIPP Facility outside of Carlsbad, NM. Per diem is available for those who qualify. Work location is on-site at WIPP The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation's only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds. The successful candidate will manage the organization's efforts to promote responsible use of natural resources and protection of the natural environment, primarily by reducing the use of utilities and operation of facilities. The individual utilizes various tools and software to monitor building utility consumption to assist with determining energy reduction projects for the organization. Will collaborate with utility providers energy service and equipment providers to coordinate organizational energy and sustainability programs and provide analysis, information and recommendations to applicable leadership. The manager will also be responsible for providing technical analysis, review, measurement, and verification projects. Provides technical analysis/review for energy projects; providing project risk assessment. Perform building "walk-through" and identify energy conservation measures (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in industrial facilities. Use simulation software and spreadsheets to accurately represent pre and post retrofit building operation. Customizes software and spreadsheets to achieve desired technical results and presentations. Assess and provide feedback on project engineering risk. Provide continuous improvement recommendations on a yearly basis for optimizing existing control strategies. Develops/streamlines existing reporting capabilities from a software standpoint and a usability perspective and investigate new technologies. Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.Bachelor's degree in Engineering with twenty (20) years of related experience, orAssociates degree with twenty-four (24) years of related experience, orHigh School Diploma or Equivalency with twenty-eight (28) years of related experience is required.Knowledge and experience with HVAC, Control, and Electrical systems is mandatory.Current Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification obtained through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) or the ability to obtain CEM certification within one year of hiring date is required. Preferred Requirements:Current CEM certification is desired.Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
