About the Role: We're searching for an Energy Markets Analyst to join our world-class team. This exciting opportunity will provide broad exposure to all that Energy Markets does: from working with Finance on revenue planning and financial reporting, to pushing for market changes with Regulatory Affairs, to educating and equipping our Sales team, to collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to develop market- and customer-facing products - and much more. There will be an initial focus on data management and optimizing how we handle data, as well as program management. The ideal candidate will be able to grow into developing market strategy and supporting regulatory advocacy. This multifaceted position plays an integral role in helping our customers profit from their involvement in energy markets. This is a remote role and you can work from anywhere, with the ability to engage in market-facing activities and to hold meetings with coworkers and stakeholders during continental US-based business hours. There is an opportunity for this role to be a Senior Energy Markets Analyst, depending on the relevant experience of the candidate.
\n Key Responsibilities:Understand the role of demand response and other distributed energy resources in the ERCOT energy market and translate that understanding into messaging for sales and regulatory advocacy.Become an expert in Voltus' data architecture and processes and how they can be leveraged to scale energy markets' operations, from asset enrollment to financial settlementsDevelop analytical tools to support the operational needs of our market activities as well as the customer-facing needs of our Sales and Marketing effortsDefine and implement processes and procedures to support flawless execution of our day-to-day responsibilities and market activities, including auction and asset optimization analysesWork across teams, including Sales, Finance, Product, and Operations to improve the profitability of our market-specific portfolios Qualifications:Excellent verbal communication and presentation skillsExceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work productUncommonly driven to succeed and maniacally self-initiatedAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environmentA strong technical background in Excel. Programming experience in SQL, Python, and data architecture is a plus.Exhibited interest in the energy and/or climate space. 1-2 years experience in the demand-side energy industry (Preferred, not required)
\n$80,000 - $115,000 a year
Base pay is $80,000-$115,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with 10-20% bonus paid semi-annually, and equity.
