By joining our Burlington Section as an Engineer-In-Training II, you'll assist the Burlington Section Supervisor in administering all activities of the Burlington Section in Kenton County and provide guidance and consults with all other Branches within the District.


Holders of this job title will complete tasks such as: Review, inspect, and perform construction engineering work. Develop estimates for construction projects. Assist with Section Engineer with construction projects. Review plans for conformance to specifications and standards. Holders of this job will obtain the following skills: Knowledge of professional engineering practices. How to document the progression of engineering projects. Knowledge of transportation engineering projects. Coordinating work with contractors and consultants. Desired candidates should possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position: Ability to think critically Knowledge of engineering principles Organizational skills and attention to detail Computer skills Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.



EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of engineering experience as an Engineer-In-Training.



Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience.



Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE



SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this title will perform duties in an office and/or field setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
