Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Engineering, the Mechanical EIT is a critical role in developing and executing engineering and capital strategies for the site to maintain safe, reliable, efficient operations. The role plays an integral part in the success of the facility by supporting initiatives that allow us to meet safety, environmental, financial, and capacity utilization targets. The successful candidate must be able to understand complex production facilities and equipment and be able to work independently to develop improvement proposals and to make decisions to resolve problem areas as required.
This position is located at our Redwater, Alberta, Canada site and is not available for remote work.
What you will do: Own mechanical design of plant changes through the MOC processAnalyze maintenance history and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunitiesDevelop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies and tactics for fixed and rotating equipmentLead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigationsConduct equipment assessments during maintenance and inspection opportunities for repair quality, fitness for service, and life expectancy evaluationDevelop equipment specifications and review equipment purchases and installations to ensure that equipment is built to recognized practicesWork with Site Trades Groups, Planners, Engineers, Inspectors, and Projects GroupsSupport department long-term maintenance plan and asset management goalsBring a high level of problem-solving skills and comprehensionWhat you will bring: Bachelor of Engineering, MechanicalEligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer In Training2-4 years engineering work experience in a plant environment preferredExposure to pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2), and NDT inspection techniquesExposure to API 579, API 571, API 510, API 570 and API 650Exposure to Alberta regulatory requirements for pressure equipmentAdvanced experience working with Excel and an understanding of VBA programming languageExperience using PV Elite, CodeCalc, and CAESAR is considered an assetReady to make an impact with us?
