Electronic Technician Job Description: The Tooling Engineer will use computer-aided design (CAD) to create and adjust tools and parts for products that require customized components, such as vehicles, airplanes, and heavy equipment to support MRO activities.
Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate with design and production teams to define tooling requirements and goalsDesign and tool parts and components according to blueprints and requirementsTest tooled pieces to ensure tolerances, color, and dimensionsAssist with the improvement and refinement of tooled pieces and tooling processesWork with QC, engineering, and other departments to communicate challenges and requirements Design and create tooling drawing to support MRO activities. Tooling includes assembly jigs, ground support equipment, shop tooling aids, machining fixtures, handling tools, etc.Create drawing and guidelines for tooling set-up and utilization.Liaise with internal and external machining facilities for tooling fabrication.Engage and coordinate with operation teams to ensure all MRO tools are well organized and in good conditions. Ensure safe working practices.Trouble-shoot, provide engineering solutions and improvements for tooling technical problems.Support tooling periodical calibration for assembly jigs, load testing etc. Maintain and update calibration records.Support quality investigation, continuous improvement and innovation development. Required Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen. Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Design Engineering. OR Hold a Diploma and have 4-6 years working experience in Manufacturing and/or Tooling Design will be considered. Knowledge in machining and rapid prototyping would be beneficialAbility to interpret technical drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerance.Ability to use various measurement instruments.Proficient in MS Office and CATIA V5 applicationsUse of laser trackers for tooling calibration is added advantageIndependent, self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced environmentA team player with a positive attitude and keen interest to learnGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
