Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking a Senior Consultant/Consultant for the Vessels & Internals group, to coordinate with experts in the nuclear industry to develop and implement innovative solutions to industry problems and concerns. This role includes engineering contributions toward analyses and assessments to support clients in resolving engineering concerns. Development of the consultant will include activities to diversify client engagement, business development, and project management opportunities. Primary Responsibilities:Manage technical projects that offer solutions to industry clients Develop new leads and project opportunities with clientsDevelop engineering assessments to resolve issues for utility clientsContribute to proposals for project development and scopingUnderstand engineering approaches from colleagues and expertsSupport emergency client work, especially for outages and maintenance periods Required Skills/Qualifications:BS degree in Materials Engineering and/or Material Science15+ years of experience in the following fields:Materials Evaluation, Testing & CertificationPrograms Engineering (Inservice Inspection, Vessel Internals – BWR/PWR including surveillance capsules, steel and concrete embrittlement, P-T Curves, fluence calculations), Nondestructive Examination, Welding & Repair, License RenewalCode Committees (ASME, ASTM). Active Code Committee membership and engagement is a plusLicense Renewal (LR), and subsequent license renewal (SLR) including Time-Limiting Aging Analysis - TLAA)Fracture Mechanics (FM) as it applies to Vessels and InternalsEPRI awareness in BWR Vessel integrity program (BWRVIP) and Materials Reliability Program (MRP) is a plusExperience with the Domestic US Commercial Nuclear Fleet Reactor Design & Materials is a plusExperience with NRC regulations and business protocolWillingness to travel up to 15% to support clients and business needsExcellent written and oral communication skills including presentations are a mustProactively (early and often) communicate project status (including schedule, budget, resourcing, and deliverables) to managementDesired Attributes:Desire to continuously improve and grow engineering, client engagement, and project management skill setWillingness to support emergency client work necessary for plant restart or to avoid unnecessary plant shutdownCuriosity to learn new technology and analytical approachesPMP (and other) project management certificationFamiliarity with material degradation and failure modesStrong self-organization tendencies and ability to adapt to changing scenariosUnderstanding of the Design process through Production and eventual OperationAbility to review, critique, and improve the written output of other engineersReceptiveness to constructive feedback to improve capability and performanceFinite Element Analysis (FEA) capabilityPE License The expected salary range for this role in Huntersville, NC is $85,000 to $148,700 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
