Job Title: CAD Design ManagerJob Description
The CAD Design Manager will have overall responsibility for the mechanical design drawing creation in the APC division.
This position will report to the Engineering Manager and will build and maintain a data-driven CAD program for the design and execution of Air Pollution Control equipment projects.
The position will also be responsible for enforcing CAD and design standards, ensuring that the design engineers meet design deadlines with consistent and high-quality drawings.
This role currently oversees a team of 15, including 7 design engineers specializing in 3D space, 4 process engineers, and 3 controls engineers.
The initial focus will be on day-to-day task management, resource planning, and data collection for individual and group performance.
The ideal candidate will not serve as a working supervisor for the first few months.
Hard Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in a CAD management role, preferably in a multi-location environment
+ Any 3D software experience (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Plant 3D, Navisworks)
+ Experience in industrial fabrication or metal fabrication
+ Familiarity with task management software (e.g., Plano, Smartsheet)
+ BS in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Soft Skills
+ Strong leadership and team management skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Experience in data analysis and reporting
+ Project-based business experience is a plus
+ Ability to organize tasks in an electronic format
Job Type
This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Kennesaw, Georgia and some days remote.
Work Environment
Fully onsite, with the option to work from home one day a week (Fridays).
Design engineers work in an open office environment and typically start at 7am and leave at 4pm to alleviate traffic.
The CAD Design Manager will have their own office nearby.
Every Monday, the team conducts a stand-up meeting to discuss weekly progress.
Daily responsibilities include managing team attendance, vacation schedules, training modules, and task progress.
The role requires constant availability to guide the team and ensure continuous workflow.
