Engineering Geologist

ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST – NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION / CANNABIS WATERSHED PROTECTION PROGRAM / HEADQUARTERS
The reporting location for this position is Headquarters located at 715 P Street in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of the Environmental Program Manager I.
Under the direction of the Cannabis Watershed Protection Program manager (CWPP), this position provides technical assistance to field offices and field staff to address complex hydrologic and geologic issues, provide guidance for layout of infrastructure and land use, and recommends designs and solutions for landscape scale environmental restoration projects. The position will be a member of the interdisciplinary CWPP and act as the subject matter expert for geologic issues related to environmental restoration. The position requires a moderate level of independent action and the ability to both identify and solve complex issues and to make sound recommendations to project managers, program managers and senior department management. Travel may be up to 30 percent of the time.

Experience in hydrologic calculations and backcountry engineering is highly desirable.
This position requires a valid professional geologist license issued by the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Please provide proof of eligibility with application.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered. The incumbent is currently expected to report to the office two days per week.
