Role Overview Heard is looking for product-minded Engineering Team Leaders and People Managers who are relationship-obsessed, drive results and enable their teams to build for technical excellence. As an Engineering Manager at Heard, you will work closely with Engineering Leadership, Product, Design and Business teams to help shape the future of the engineering organization. \n Responsibilities:Oversees technical implementations, including pull request reviews, to maintain high code quality and alignment with engineering principles.Take full ownership of system production operations, ensuring system reliability and monitoring performance with a clear understanding of SLAs.Mentor and coach team members to support their career development, skill growth, and overall experience.Oversee and manage 1:1s, development, hiring, and performance reviews.Foster a culture of retention and engagement by ensuring job satisfaction and alignment with broader career aspirations.Adjust team processes to drive efficiency and reduce cycle times.Collaborate with Product Managers to ensure consistent estimation, planning, and alignment with project goals.Promote a culture of collaboration and positive impact across the entire team and cross-functional partners, including product and design. Qualifications:3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.3-5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.A proven track record of building and influencing and guiding high-performing teams that have successfully delivered business outcomes through technical investments.A technical foundation that enables oversight of appropriate technical trajectory.A strong product mindset, demonstrated by building effective cross-functional relationships that drive optimal user experiences and build trust with users.A history of effective collaboration across teams and functions.Prior experience with TypeScript and React is a nice-to-have.Familiarity with Fintech or Fintech-related systems and integrations is a plus.Experience working with AWS infrastructure is a plus.Experience in health-tech or fintech, particularly with user-facing products, is a plus.
