We have several Engineering Manager openings, 1 with our cards and messaging team (JD below), others in different departments. All are related to payments work! The role: As the manager of the Galileo Cards and Messaging team, you will be responsible for leading a team to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance and security of the Galileo messaging platform. Leading initiatives to improve overall capabilities in a highly distributed and dynamic environment.
The role requires an experienced engineering leader with excellent cross-functional and communication skills as well as backgrounds in operations, software development, systems performance and resilience engineering. Always focusing on the quality experience of our customers.
What you'll do: Own the vision of the future Galileo Cards and Messaging platformLead by example, care for the team and establish credibility with the quality of the team's technical executionLead the development, delivery and operation of the Messaging serviceProactively ensure the highest levels of system availabilityNurture a culture of continuous improvement and blameless retrospection within the organizationGrow and mentor a team of engineers, building their talents by exposing them to new challenges and experiencesParticipate in deep technical design discussions within the team, and across partner teams to ensure that we're building the right systems and keeping the quality highTrack project performance against defined milestones/goals.Conduct process improvement projects to increase performance in vital program metrics.Communicate ongoing project health with key stakeholders and business leadershipWhat you'll need: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject8+ years of experience with software development3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers (can overlap with programming experience)Consistent track record of performance management and career development of individual contributorsAbility to engage in technical and business discussions from both tactical and strategic viewpointsExperience with operating in Cloud and distributed systemsExperience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniquesExperience with DevOps and full ownership of services from development to productionAbility to balance delivering on business objectives while also protecting the long term quality of platformExperience leading cross-organizational efforts with different teams to ensure successful delivery of projectsNice to have: Expertise building and deploying software using cloud services and AWS platforms including VPCs, ECS/EKS, etc.Experience working in highly regulated environments such as FinTechCompensation and Benefits The base pay range for this role is listed below.
