DESCRIPTION OF WORK This program offers a one-year training opportunity focused on construction materials-related tasks, providing hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of the industry. Responsibilities include assisting in the supervision of material quality by conducting tests and inspections, ensuring that material suppliers adhere to approved standards and comply with their quality control protocols. Effective communication is key, as trainees are expected to interact with customers, share relevant information, liaise with material suppliers, and support customers in receiving materials while offering technical assistance. Trainees will also participate in quality assurance assessments for aggregate, bituminous, and concrete suppliers within the district, contributing to the overall quality control process. Additionally, trainees will assist in materials testing as per specifications and testing procedures, participate in materials acceptance evaluations for construction projects, and promptly report any deviations in materials to their supervisor for corrective measures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time based on project assignments. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
