Position Description: We are looking for an Entry Level Engineer to join our Water Team to improve infrastructure in our Detroit office. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and zero to five years of hydrologic/hydraulic engineering. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.
\n Typical responsibilities include: Provide hydrologic and hydraulic technical support to the planning, design and construction on various wet weather projects that may include combined/sanitary sewer overflow, collection system, pump station, water, stormwater, green infrastructure, hydrologic and hydraulic models and/or other projectsPerform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations of collection systems and open channels models.Perform GIS analysis to support hydrologic and hydraulic model developmentPrepare engineering calculations and supporting analysis of alternativesPrepare and evaluate wet weather control alternativesPrepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standardsReview plans and specificationsPrepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantitiesAssist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasksDocument design changes and communicationsConduct on-site inspections as neededAssist Project ManagersAttend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.Maintain excellent client relationsMaintain a safe working environment Education:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Skills/Experience:0 to 5 of related experience requiredInterest in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering
