Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Machine all types of metalsGenerate and check part dimensions during various machining stages with complex measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, special purpose gauges, and scalesAchieve all required tolerances and finishes that will produce quality parts in a timely manner and for meeting standards as set forth by Manufacturing Engineering and QualityContinuous visual concentration with or without reasonable accommodation may be necessary to develop and maintain toleranceEnsure all characteristics generated at designated operation are conforming through use of applicable inspection techniquesPerform setup and operation of equipment to drawings, method sheets, etc., but may be required to supplement this information with own job knowledge on occasionMay do minor maintenance on machines styleMay be required on a temporary basis, to train operators to use certain equipment which the individual is qualified toResponsible for keeping facilities, material and work area orderly exercising care in their use, maintaining good housekeeping practicesMust adhere to all environmental, health and safety requirements and all qualityMust actively participate in a team based environment which includes, but not limited to the following: Active participation in daily team meetings and activities, cooperating and relating well with others, practicing direct professional communication with team members, and being open to new ideas from team members and considers opinions different from their ownVoucher or account for own time accurately using the prescribed system, as well as, electronically maintain recordsSchedule: Tuesday through Friday from 4:30pm to 2:30amQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDHas participated in previous manufacturing, shop classes, or constructionAbility to lift/ push/ pull up to 35 lbs.Desired Characteristics:3-5 years machine shop/prior aerospace engines machining experienceAbility to use computers and learn Microsoft OfficeEducation and/or training in machine shop operationsUnderstanding of CNC and manual machine operationsBasic programming knowledge to include reading editing of programsExperience in a self-directed team environmentLean manufacturing knowledgeThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
