Job Summary If you're interested in an Entry Level Research Associate job, then this is the best role for you. The Research Associate will be working collaboratively with a large production team of FTE's and contractors to deliver daily and weekly genotyping targets under tight deadlines. Will primarily be responsible for operating manual and automated lab processes in a library creation lab. The role may also include additional various tasks in sample prep, sequencing, qPCR, general lab stocking and supply upkeep.
Job Description Performs laboratory technical tasks. Responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Will be required to offer assistance in the operation of the equipment and the gathering of data. Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking. Skills Required 1-2 years' experience. Demonstrate reliability: This is a business-critical position to keep our lab running 7 days a week across multiple shifts. The candidate must be a reliable presence on this shift. Position may require flexible or off shift hours during peak times. High Throughput/production/sample management: Our lab processes 4+ million samples per year with fast turn-around times. Any experience handling a large number of samples daily (lab, etc.), or in a fast-paced environment (retail, food service, etc.) is a plus. Experience with LIMS is a plus. Automation/mechanical aptitude: The candidate must be comfortable running and troubleshooting automation independently with little guidance on this shift. Biologists with engineering/technical aptitudes are encouraged to apply. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree. Additional Requirements Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check. Shift: Monday- Friday night shift (approx. 2pm-10pm). Role is 100% on-site (no hybrid or work from home model).
