Our operations-focused engineering provides our clients with safe and efficient facilities, and it integrates our 130 years of construction experience to finish projects on time and to make sure that Nobody Gets Hurt.Our rapidly growingIndustrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.LocationThis internship will be based out of our Lone Tree, CO or Lenexa, KS office.ResponsibilitiesReview environmental impacts associated with client activities, and develop appropriate environmental responses, including permitting and compliance activities.Ensure that all projects comply with relevant environmental regulations, permits, and codes.Promote sustainable environmental practices and identify opportunities to enhance environmental performance in projects.Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources for the office and team.Assist in developing environmental SOPs and other key environmental resources. Communicate internally with all employees on the project, other disciplines and departments, and externally with the client, contractors, and Government Agencies. Prepare the necessary elements for technical presentations. QualificationsPursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Must have knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done.Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients and subcontractors.Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities.Ability to apply the knowledge and principles of engineering, organization, planning, and development.Uncompromising attitude toward safety and integrity.Ability to travel as needed.
