As an Environmental Engineering Trainee, in collaboration with guidance from Bureau of Safe Drinking Water Management, you are responsible for the management of drinking water infrastructure improvement projects. Duties include assisting in reviewing of public water system (PWS) permit applications submitted in accordance with all required rules and regulations. You also assist in reviewing feasibility studies, corrective action plans, funding applications, change orders, engineering plans, and specifications and contract documents for projects where applicants are pursuing funding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three (3) days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes Barre. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $63,590.00 (before taxes).
