Environmental Health and Safety Director Salute is seeking a highly experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional to lead our U.S region's EHS program. This role will be instrumental in driving our commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and employee safety within data center, mission critical environments. You will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS strategies, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This is a remote position that will require occasional Travel to accomplish site visits, client interactions and corporate meetings. 30% travel. This position reports directly to Salute's VP of Global EHS.
Salary: $125k-$150k/yr + 10% annual bonus Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Note: This position requires 30% travel
Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership: Develop and implement a robust EHS program aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, including OSHA, OSH EPA, NFPA and local ordinances. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures to mitigate EHS risks. Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of EHS incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Brief clients and team on the outcome of investigations and actions taken to prevent recurrence. Workers Compensation Administration: Manage all aspects of the workers compensation claim process to ensure proper case management. Emergency Response: Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans. Employee Training: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all employees stressing continual education throughout the enterprise. Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EHS performance. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies and local communities. Safety Management System: Lead administrator of Salute's SMS system, ensuring system is being used properly and that tasks are completed within prescribed time frames. Manage dashboards and gather key metrics to present to client portfolios for Quarterly Review's with clients and Salute leadership. Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the field of Safety. 10+ years of experience in EHS management, with experience in all aspects of electrical safety programs. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Proven track record in developing and implementing EHS programs. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications: ASP/CSP Data Center Experience Military Veteran Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
• Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
• Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
• Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature in and outside of a facility
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
• Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
• Possession of a valid driver's license and passport for work-related travel, as required
